Matt and Amy Wedding

It has been nothing but fun working with Matt and Amy. We have loved every session starting with their engagement. As we posted before they were very trusting and helped us realize a little bit of a vision. Your wedding was a day full of fun and love. Your families are made up of some of the most lovely people with big hearts. Even though you will have distance you will always be close to them, Paul and I can speak from experience. We wish you the best.

Matt and Ashley

Last weekend, we covered a very near and dear event. It was a big deal to us because it was the wedding of our beloved babysitter. To fully appreciate how important Ashley is to us you have to try to understand how important a REALLY good sitter is, they have to be reliable, caring and willing to work mostly weekends. She was the one we would come home to after a long day of shooting, she saw how tired we were, she heard all about the weddings and she knew us, inside and out and still chose us as her photographers! An enormous compliment. Ashley is more than just a great sitter, though. She is thoughtful in every sense, the kids never liked it if we came home early and asked if we had another wedding the next day, she crafted and played with them until they were "over it." Matt, you have chosen not just a beautiful wife but one of the most precious people on the planet. Thank you both for being a part of our lives. Just because you are married and moving doesn't mean we won't still text you to see if you are available <3

Eric and Teresa

A few weeks ago Natalie invited me to photograph a small wedding with her in Charlotte. We had a great time and just wanted to post a few of my favorites. Thank you for the great day.

Noel and Todd Engagement

We have been looking forward to doing this shoot for a while. Even though they called for rain and we have been experiencing terrible storms, nothing could stop us this time. We are SO HAPPY we were able to carry on. The light was so pretty and golden. When Noel told me she and Todd wanted to bring their guitars for the shoot we were very excited, so excited I had to knock on a strangers door when I saw her barn. Thank goodness I did. I have a new friend and a fantastic place to shoot. During the shoot Paul and I felt like we were shooting for an album cover and now you can see why. Thanks Noel and Todd for not just adding props but for being yourselves.

Amy & Matt Engagement

This shoot was so fun for us because it was like directing a movie scene without all the motion. Amy said she wanted to do an "old time" photo with Matt in uniform and we had so much fun with it. The case she found was her great grandmothers, very authentic. We felt like the train tracks added a timeless sense to the scene, while we were shooting it felt a little magical. Every time Paul or I looked at the back of the camera we would giggle a little because we were so excited. You could really pick up on the sense of reunion because it was real. Matt lives in Virginia right now and doesn't come home often so coming home for this shoot made everything feel true.

I Heart Faces | A Touch of Whimsy

One of my most favorite backyard moments. Paul was washing his dirt bike with the power washer and the kids went out to admire their dad- like they do- and he starting a magical storm. Soon shirts were shed and smiles were all we could wear. When I looked outside all I could see were my little beautifully backlit water angels dancing and screaming for it to never end. I am sure we all have those moments when we are caught up in something beautiful and candid where you wish you had your camera, sometimes you do. http://www.iheartfaces.com/2011/06/photo-challenge-whimsical/
