Noel and Todd Engagement

We have been looking forward to doing this shoot for a while. Even though they called for rain and we have been experiencing terrible storms, nothing could stop us this time. We are SO HAPPY we were able to carry on. The light was so pretty and golden. When Noel told me she and Todd wanted to bring their guitars for the shoot we were very excited, so excited I had to knock on a strangers door when I saw her barn. Thank goodness I did. I have a new friend and a fantastic place to shoot. During the shoot Paul and I felt like we were shooting for an album cover and now you can see why. Thanks Noel and Todd for not just adding props but for being yourselves.

Amy & Matt Engagement

This shoot was so fun for us because it was like directing a movie scene without all the motion. Amy said she wanted to do an "old time" photo with Matt in uniform and we had so much fun with it. The case she found was her great grandmothers, very authentic. We felt like the train tracks added a timeless sense to the scene, while we were shooting it felt a little magical. Every time Paul or I looked at the back of the camera we would giggle a little because we were so excited. You could really pick up on the sense of reunion because it was real. Matt lives in Virginia right now and doesn't come home often so coming home for this shoot made everything feel true.

I Heart Faces | A Touch of Whimsy

One of my most favorite backyard moments. Paul was washing his dirt bike with the power washer and the kids went out to admire their dad- like they do- and he starting a magical storm. Soon shirts were shed and smiles were all we could wear. When I looked outside all I could see were my little beautifully backlit water angels dancing and screaming for it to never end. I am sure we all have those moments when we are caught up in something beautiful and candid where you wish you had your camera, sometimes you do. http://www.iheartfaces.com/2011/06/photo-challenge-whimsical/

Brad and Sarah Engagement = FUN!

We had such a great time photographing Sarah and Brad this past weekend from the beginning to the end. While pushing Brad to his limits Sarah worked her magic. Brad was a great sport, literally, from us pushing him around to making him tackle Sarah (which, I think was a big no-no in his very gentle mind) he obliged. We can see why Sarah fell for this gentleman. It was great to get to know you both and can't wait for our next shoot.

Buster and the Girls

I was so excited for my friend Lisa to have her third baby, for someone else to join the 3 club...any mother or father for that matter, will tell you it is just different when you are out-numbered. A new kind of "joy" is all I will say. I have come to realize I really like Lisa for more than just the fact our children get along, she is just as funny as me and she gets my jokes. A good start for a solid foundation for a solid friendship. Lisa, if you read this post I hope I have made you laugh and I hope I have expressed the joy your family brings you though these photos. Thank you for inviting me into your home.

The Crum Family

I had such a good time photographing the Crum family last Saturday morning, it gave me a chance to get to know David a little...I have already had the pleasure of getting to know Angela through a few playdates thanks to our daughters. We have been trying to schedule this shoot for a while but due to all of the wonderful rain and crazy schedules that families try to entertain we didn't get around to it until now. The plan was to do the shoot before Katherine (aka "daughter") lost her first tooth- missed it by a day, if you can believe it! Angela, your family is fun and have a nice easy relaxed spirit and I hope I captured that.
